Lagniappe

Lagniappe is my new favorite word. I just learned it a minute ago (yay Wikipedia!) It means "a little something extra", it's from New Orleans, derived from the Spanish la ~napa (can't do the tilde over the n, sigh).  Isn't that a great word?  Pronounced: la-nee-ap.  I'm not sure where the emphasis goes, but I assume the 2nd syllable.

In other news, I'm hot and sweaty.  Goddamn humidity.  This weather is unholy.  And I decided to get off a stop early on my way home this evening and walk.   Which actually was quite nice, I got an iced chai tea (hold the milk) from Tealuxe and window shopped.  I almost bought a new pair of shoes, but held off.  Best to reflect for a few days.   But I did buy pants and square-necked t-shirt at the Gap.  I do love square-necked t-shirts,  they look so lovely.  Everyone should try them!  Report back to me with your findings.

Sister mine, when is your 2nd interview?  Isn't it this week?  Why haven't we seen pictures of your new apartment yet?

At least you've been there. My parents claim that I can't go there until I'm 35. ha ha ha

hey, interview is next tuesday, i'm stressing over the paper. I'm just not really sure how to write the thing. It feels like the easiest would be to write in first person, but that is naughty (and unnecessary) for academic-y papers. Added to that, I'm not coming up with much in my research, but I'm going to the library tomorrow and/or thursday.

Photos soon, hopefully.
